Electricity units × rate calculator for a rent bill

For a flat per-unit charge, electricity amount = units consumed × rate per unit. Fifty units at ₹8 per unit is ₹400. This calculator does not include slab tariffs, fixed charges, taxes or utility-specific adjustments.

Calculate your electricity charge

50 units × ₹8 = ₹400

Flat-rate calculation only. No login needed. Values stay in your browser.

Use consumption, not the meter’s final reading

If the previous reading was 1,200 and the current reading is 1,250, consumption is 50 units. Choose Meter readings to calculate this difference, or Direct units to enter 50. Check the reading period and agreed rate before billing the tenant.

When this calculation is enough

It is useful when your arrangement is a single per-unit rate. If you need to split a shared utility bill or use an electricity-board slab tariff, determine that charge separately. Do not present this multiplication as an official utility bill.

For a shared PG meter, allocate the consumption to tenants before using Direct units. Example: 120 units split equally between three occupants is 40 units each; at ₹8 per unit, each charge is ₹320. Use the actual agreed allocation when shares differ.

Put the result on the tenant’s monthly bill

In MyRentMitra, open Create Bill, select Electricity, choose Meter readings or Direct units and check the rate. The calculated charge joins rent and other selected charges in the reviewed total.
